A wave of panic engulfed Piplodi village in the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan on Friday when the roof of a government primary school caved in during class hours, resulting in the deaths of four children and injuries to 17 others. Many students were believed to be trapped beneath the rubble as rescue teams and local officials hurried to the location to conduct emergency operations, according to police reports.

As reported by the media, injured children have been swiftly transported to the Manoharthana Community Health Centre (CHC) for emergency care, while officials are clearing the debris using cranes. “Four children have died, and 17 others are injured. Ten children have been sent to Jhalawar, with three to four in critical condition,” stated Amit Kumar, the Superintendent of Police in Jhalawar.
Rescue teams, along with local villagers, are tirelessly working to remove the debris with the assistance of JCB machines. Officials have confirmed that the injured children are being rapidly taken to the Manohar Thana Community Health Centre (CHC) for urgent medical attention, according to the report.
Law enforcement and administrative officials have arrived at the scene and are actively managing the rescue and relief operations. Authorities are expected to initiate an investigation into the cause of the structural failure shortly.
Authorities reported that the children were rescued from the rubble with assistance from teachers and local villagers.
