Parliament to conduct a 16-hour discussion on Operation Sindoor starting from July 29

A discussion regarding Operation Sindoor is anticipated to take place in Parliament on Tuesday, July 29, with the government designating 16 hours for a special discussion in both houses during the ongoing Monsoon Session, according to multiple reports on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, is expected to address the issue, while the opposition has called for the prime minister to speak to both houses and the nation on this significant matter, as reported by India Today.

On Wednesday, a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Rajya Sabha was convened, during which it was agreed to hold a discussion on Operation Sindoor in the upper house on July 29.

The report, citing sources, indicated that a special discussion in the Lok Sabha is set to commence next week, with 16 hours allocated for the Operation following a consensus. The opposition parties have also insisted that PM Modi should be present during the debate on Operation Sindoor.

This development follows US President Donald Trump’s repeated claims of facilitating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, which has provoked a strong response from the opposition.

The Congress party, mocking the central government, stated that while Trump has reiterated his claims 25 times over the past 73 days, PM Modi remains “completely silent, only finding time to travel abroad and undermine democratic institutions at home.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi remarked that the Prime Minister has failed to provide any response to Trump’s assertions regarding a ceasefire, which he has repeated 25 times to date.

“Individuals who refer to themselves as ‘deshbhakt’ have fled. The Prime Minister has not made a single statement. Trump has asserted 25 times that he has declared a ceasefire. Who is he? This is not his responsibility. Nevertheless, the Prime Minister has not responded even once. This is the truth. One cannot escape from it,” stated the Congress MP.
