Caught on video: Receptionist kicked and pulled by hair at a clinic in Kalyan after asking a patient to wait

In a shocking event, a 25-year-old female receptionist was violently assaulted by a man on Monday evening at a private clinic in Kalyan, Maharashtra, when she attempted to prevent him from bypassing the queue to enter the doctor’s office. This incident took place at Shree Balachitikha Clinic, as reported by the Marathi daily Sakal.

A video capturing the incident has gone viral on social media.

According to the report, the receptionist intervened to stop the suspect from entering the doctor’s office due to the presence of other patients. The woman has been identified as Sonali Kalasare, while the suspect is named Gokul Jha.

After the incident, Kalasare lodged a complaint against Jha at the Manpada Police Station, and the authorities are currently investigating the matter.

What transpired?
As per the report, Kalasare, who resides in Pisavali village in Kalyan, is employed as a receptionist at Dr. Aniket Palande’s Shree Balachitikha Clinic in Nanivali.

Her working hours at the clinic are from 10 am to 2 pm and 6 pm to 10 pm. Upon her arrival at the clinic on Monday at 6 pm, Dr. Aniket Palande had not yet come in, and approximately 4-5 patients were already waiting. When Dr. Palande arrived at around 6:25 pm, several medical representatives went to see him.

Shortly after, a couple arrived at the clinic with their baby for a check-up, accompanied by Jha, a relative. When Jha attempted to enter the doctor’s chamber without an appointment, the receptionist informed him that the doctor was occupied and requested him to wait outside.

However, Jha reportedly verbally abused her, prompting Kalasare to ask him to refrain from such behavior. The suspect then exited the clinic but returned shortly after, verbally assaulting the woman and physically attacking her with kicks and punches, according to the police.

The relatives of the patients waiting at the clinic, along with Dr. Aniket Palande, intervened and rescued Kalasare. It was later disclosed that Jha was a relative accompanying the parents of the ill child.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The viral video depicts the suspect kicking the receptionist and dragging her by her hair across the reception area of the pediatric clinic. In accordance with the victim’s report, we have filed an FIR under the applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita for assault, the use of obscene language, and for outraging a woman’s modesty,” a police official stated.
