Boeing has provided three Apache helicopters to the Indian Army

The Indian Air Force (IAF) entered into a multi-billion dollar agreement with the US government and Boeing Ltd in September 2015 for the acquisition of 22 Apache helicopters.

New Delhi: On Tuesday, Boeing, a leading American aerospace company, delivered three Apache attack helicopters to the Indian Army, as confirmed by officials.

These AH-64E Apache helicopters were delivered as part of a contract to provide six helicopters to the Indian Army.

The AH-64 Apache is recognized as one of the most sophisticated multi-role combat helicopters globally and is utilized by the US Army.

“These cutting-edge platforms will significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Army,” the Army stated in a post on social media.

In 2020, Boeing finalized the delivery of 22 E-model Apaches to the Indian Air Force (IAF) and also signed a contract to supply six AH-64Es to the Indian Army.

The delivery of the Apache helicopters for the Indian Army is set to commence in 2024.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) entered into a multi-billion dollar agreement with the US government and Boeing Ltd in September 2015 for the acquisition of 22 Apache helicopters.

Furthermore, in 2017, the Defence Ministry sanctioned the purchase of six Apache helicopters along with weapon systems from Boeing at a total cost of Rs 4,168 crore for the Army.
