Hyderabad: An IndiGo flight bound for Hyderabad reportedly experienced a technical issue on Sunday, causing it to circle in the air for approximately 40 minutes before safely returning to Tirupati.
The aircraft, an Airbus A321neo, took off from Tirupati Airport at around 7:42 pm and made its way back to its departure point at approximately 8:34 pm, as per the air traffic tracking platform Flightradar24.
Flightradar24’s flight path indicated that the plane, designated 6E 6591, reached Venkatagiri town in Tirupati before making a U-turn. It then circled in the air for about 40 minutes before returning to Tirupati Airport.
According to information on the IndiGo website, the flight is scheduled to leave Tirupati at 7:20 pm and arrive in Hyderabad at 8:30 pm.
This flight, which was reportedly the last scheduled service to Hyderabad for the day, was later cancelled.
A video circulating on social media depicted passengers in a dispute with the airline’s staff regarding rescheduling.
As of now, the airline has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
