A case of theft has been reported at the farmhouse of Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani in Maval, Pune district, as confirmed by a senior police official on Friday.

The incident came to light when Bijlani returned to her farmhouse, situated in Tikona village near Pawna Dam, after a four-month absence. According to her account to the Pune Rural Police, the property had been broken into and was left in utter chaos.

Bijlani claimed that the main door and window grills had been forcibly opened. A television set was reported missing, while another was found to be damaged. She noted in her formal complaint that several household items, including beds, a refrigerator, and CCTV equipment, were either stolen or vandalized.

In a written application to the Pune Rural Superintendent of Police, Sandip Singh Gill, the actress explained that she had been unable to check on the property due to her father’s poor health.

“Today, I visited the farmhouse with two of my maids. Upon arrival, I was shocked and horrified to find that the main door had been broken. Upon entering, I discovered that the window grills were damaged, one television set was missing, and another was broken,” she stated in her complaint.

Bijlani also disclosed that the upper floor had been thoroughly ransacked, with all beds destroyed and various other valuables either missing or damaged.

A police team has been sent to the location to evaluate the extent of the damage. “We will file a report once the assessment of the damage and theft is finalized,” said Dinesh Tayde, senior inspector at Lonavala police station, to PTI.

On the professional front, the actress was last seen on screen in the film ‘Jagannath’ in 1996, where she portrayed the character Jyoti. She also recently celebrated her 65th birthday with friends, including actor Salman Khan, in Bandra.
