Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur’s Son Of Sardaar 2 was originally scheduled to premiere on July 25. However, the film’s release has now been delayed. This upcoming comedy-drama is set to debut on August 1, 2025, which coincides with Mrunal’s birthday. The filmmakers did not reveal the reason for the postponement.

The release date for Son of Sardaar 2 was pushed back less than a week before its intended premiere. In an announcement, the creators released a new poster stating, “The laughter riot just got a new date. Son of Sardaar 2 will now release in cinemas on 1st August 2025 worldwide.”

The trailer for Son of Sardaar 2 was unveiled on July 14. It opens with a nod to its predecessor, Son Of Sardaar, which came out in 2012. Early in the trailer, Ajay makes a jab at Pakistan, criticizing them for their bombings in our nation. There is also a notable reference to Sunny Deol from Border 2. Alongside Mrunal, viewers can catch a glimpse of their chemistry following the viral hook step from Pehla Tu Duja Tu. Mukul Dev also makes his final appearance on screen, joined by Vindu Dara Singh, Ravi Kishan, and Kubbra Sait.

While Son of Sardaar 2 brings back fond memories, it holds additional significance as it marks the last film of model-actor Mukul Dev. His close friend, Vindu, shared insights with ETimes regarding Mukul’s performance in the film. He remarked, “He has done such fantastic work in SOS 2. He was my Tony and I was his Tito. He had an amazing role and people are going to roll on the floor laughing after seeing his work in July when the film releases. But unfortunately, he will not be around to enjoy the success and see the love.”

Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, Son Of Sardaar 2 features a stellar cast that includes Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Mrunal Thakur, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sharat Saxena, Sahil Mehta, and the late Mukul Dev.
