Biking with a Firearm: Police Publish Photos of Suspects in Patna Hospital Shooting Incident

New CCTV footage has emerged in the case of the Paras Hospital shooting, revealing the attackers near the location on a motorcycle, with one of them openly brandishing a firearm. The images, recorded close to the hospital grounds, have heightened the investigation into the recent assault that resulted in one fatality.

Authorities are meticulously examining the footage frame by frame to pinpoint the gunmen and track their escape route. This incident has raised significant alarm regarding public safety and the audacity of criminal factions operating within the city.

Unidentified gunmen opened fire inside Paras HMRI Hospital on Thursday morning, aiming at Chandan Mishra, a resident of Buxar district who was on parole for medical treatment. Chandan, who faced murder charges and had multiple cases against him, was killed by a group of five armed individuals. One of the assailants has been apprehended, while others have been recognized.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the attackers are associated with a local real estate company and have a history of criminal involvement. A now-famous video from the hospital captures the assailants entering the lobby with firearms before escaping shortly after the shooting. No additional injuries have been reported.

In remarks regarding the incident, Patna SSP Kartikeya K Sharma stated, “Chandan was on parole and admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment. The rival gang shot him… We are in the process of identifying the members of the rival gang. We have photographs of the shooters.”

This shooting occurs just days following a separate incident in Patna’s Ranitalab area, where another criminal, Suraj Kumar, sustained injuries from police gunfire after allegedly attempting to escape custody. These consecutive events have underscored increasing worries about unrestrained gang rivalries and escalating street violence in Bihar’s capital.
