Actor and politician Kamal Haasan visited his close friend and colleague, Rajinikanth, at his residence in Poes Garden, Chennai, on Wednesday. Sharing a collection of photos with him, the ‘Thug Life’ actor mentioned that he met his friend just days before his oath-taking ceremony at Rajya Sabha. Time and again, the two demonstrate that their friendship remains strong, even surpassing their fame.

On Wednesday, Kamal Haasan posted photos with Rajinikanth. While he shared the news of his appointment as a Member of Parliament, the ‘Jailer’ actor presented him with a bouquet and extended heartfelt congratulations. The two were seen embracing in the images.

Kamal Haasan’s post on X in Tamil can be loosely translated to say, “I shared my happiness with my friend Rajinikanth before starting my new journey. I am both happy and delighted.”

Kamal Haasan was elected unopposed as a Rajya Sabha member with the backing of the DMK-led alliance in June.

A press release from his political party, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), stated, “We are pleased to announce that Kamal Haasan will take the oath of office and begin his responsibilities in Parliament on July 25.”

On the professional front, Kamal Haasan was last seen in director Mani Ratnam’s ‘Thug Life’. The film received a mixed response at the box office and garnered varied reviews from critics and audiences. The actor has several projects in various stages of production lined up.

His next film is set to be an action movie featuring the stunt choreographer-turned-director duo, Anbariv (Anbu and Arivu).
