Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan have come together for Priyadarshan’s upcoming film titled ‘Haiwaan’. Although news of their reunion, 17 years after Tashan, had circulated online a few days ago, director Priyadarshan has now personally confirmed the details by officially announcing the film on Instagram!

On Tuesday, filmmaker Priyadarshan posted a picture on his Instagram featuring Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar at the India versus England Test match held at Lord’s Cricket Stadium in London. The image captures Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan sharing a light-hearted moment while watching the game. Saif, clad in a blue shirt, seems engrossed in the match, while Akshay, who stands next to him in the stands, is seen conversing with him. He looks stylish in a beige blazer paired with a white shirt. In his post, Priyadarshan wrote, ““Haiwaan“ my next film with @akshaykumar and Saif Ali Khan at Lords.” Check out the post below!

Unsurprisingly, fans were extremely excited about this announcement. In response, one netizen commented, “another blockbuster in the making!!!” while another remarked, “Akshay kumar + priyadarshan = best combination.” However, one fan requested, “Pehle Hera pheri 3 banao bad main jo chahe karo,” while another added, “Hera pheri 3 laao Naa.”

According to Bollywood Hungama, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are collaborating for the Hindi remake of the 2016 Malayalam film Oppam, which originally featured Mohanlal. As per the report, Akshay Kumar will portray the villain in this film.

Hindustan Times previously reported that Akshay and Saif were thrilled as they reviewed the script. Discussing the film, a source revealed, “It’s a nail-biting and entertaining thriller film. Directed by Priyadarshan, it will keep the audiences on the edge of their seats!” The film is set to begin production in August this year and is expected to be released in 2026.

This signifies the first partnership between Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in 17 years, after their previous collaboration in the 2008 movie Tashan.

In the meantime, Saif Ali Khan was recently featured in the heist action thriller ‘Jewel Thief’ alongside Jaideep Ahlawat. It premiered on Netflix on April 25, 2025.

Akshay Kumar is set to star in Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla next. This film, produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor under the Balaji Motion Pictures banner, is scheduled for release in theaters next year. Additionally, Akshay has Priyadarshan’s Hera Pheri 3 in development. A few weeks ago, Paresh Rawal made news after allegedly leaving the project. However, he has since confirmed his return and will participate in the film.
