Salman Khan, following his role in Sikandar, will next appear in the Battle of Galwan. The gripping first look of the film, showcasing a bloodied Salman, was revealed last weekend. Although details about the remaining cast have been kept confidential, it has now been disclosed that Chitrangda Singh will play the female lead alongside the superstar, introducing a new pairing altogether.
The film’s director, Apoorva Lakhia, has confirmed that Chitrangda will star opposite Salman Khan in the eagerly awaited Battle of Galwan. This war drama, inspired by real events at the India-China border, represents the first collaboration between Salman and Chitrangda.
Apoorva Lakhia, recognized for his compelling storytelling and gritty narratives, commended Chitrangda’s talent and screen presence, emphasizing her as the ideal choice for the role. “I’ve always wanted to collaborate with Chitrangda since witnessing her remarkable performance in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and then Bob Biswas,” he remarked, adding, “We are thrilled to welcome Chitrangda Singh to the cast of Battle of Galwan.
She offers a unique blend of strength and sensitivity that will enhance Salman Sir’s brooding yet subtle strength.” Sources close to the production indicated that Lakhia was on the lookout for someone capable of expressing resilience, vulnerability, and emotional depth with equal finesse, qualities that Chitrangda displayed effortlessly. He was particularly taken by her photographs taken at India Gate, where her natural elegance and quiet grace perfectly embodied the character’s essence. Her nuanced performance style and understated screen presence made her the perfect fit for the role.
The Battle of Galwan is emerging as one of the most anticipated films of the year, not just due to its intriguing theme but also because of its innovative casting decisions. With Salman Khan at the forefront and Chitrangda Singh added to the cast, expectations are incredibly high. Filming is scheduled to commence later this year.
