At least 8 individuals tragically lost their lives on Wednesday when vehicles plunged into the Mahisagar River after the Gambhira bridge in Gujarat collapsed, as reported by news agency PTI, referencing a state minister.
This incident has severely disrupted road connectivity between Anand and Vadodara, hindering vehicular movement along this route.
According to the minister, the bridge was built in 1985, and maintenance was performed periodically as needed.
“The precise cause of the incident will be investigated,” Patel stated.
