Filmmaker, singer, and actor Farhan Akhtar, who is preparing to direct the upcoming installment of the Don franchise with Ranveer Singh in the lead role, recently shared his thoughts on casting the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani star for the film.

“The type of script we were developing, and what I envisioned for it… Unfortunately, it’s too soon to discuss specifics, so I can’t go into detail, but it required a next-generation actor,” Farhan mentioned during a conversation with Raj Shamani on his YouTube channel.

However, a recent report suggests that Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra might reunite for the third installment.

A source informed, “The producers are looking to introduce some drama by incorporating Shah Rukh Khan’s character. While not much information is available about this role, it is said that they reached out to SRK and shared the character details and the storyline surrounding him. Although the superstar is currently occupied with King, due to their strong relationship, he has agreed to participate.”

The source further indicated that Priyanka may also return to the franchise after portraying Roma in the first two films.

When discussing his choice of Ranveer for the role of Don, Farhan stated, “He possesses a playful spirit and is brimming with energy, which is essential for this role, and I believe… when it comes to this facet of his acting, it remains largely unexplored. I don’t think he has taken on a character like this before.”
