Email regarding a bomb threat prompts evacuation at the Hyderabad Civil Court

A bomb threat email was received at the Hyderabad City Civil Court in Telangana during the early hours of Tuesday. A bomb disposal squad and other officials arrived at the scene as soon as it was reported.

According to the information provided, the court authorities received the threat email at 3:15 am. The officials noticed the email at 11 am and promptly notified the local police.

The threat email was sent under the alias ‘Abida Abdullah’ and asserted that explosives had been placed at four significant locations – the City Civil Court in the Old City, the Judge’s Chambers, the Gymkhana Club, and the Judges’ Quarters.

The email claimed that four RDX bombs and IEDs had been positioned, warning that the Gymkhana Club would detonate 23 minutes after an initial explosion at the court.

The court premises were being thoroughly searched.

So far, nothing suspicious has been discovered on the premises. A police official commented on the incident to news agency ANI, stating, “The Hyderabad city civil court received a bomb threat email today in the early morning hours at 3:15 am. The officials saw it at 11 am and informed us.”

“The bomb squad and other officials are conducting a comprehensive search of the court premises. Up to this point, nothing has been found. We will provide additional details later,” he added.

On Monday, a bomb threat via email was received at Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj domestic airport, indicating that explosives had been planted on the airport grounds.

The email also warned that the airport could be detonated at any moment.

On July 5, the Chhattisgarh Sampark Kranti Express, traveling from Delhi to Durg, was delayed by nearly an hour after it was stopped at Jhansi railway station due to a bomb threat. The threat was later confirmed to be a hoax.

After the train departed Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi around 6 pm on Friday, an unidentified individual called the railway helpline 139 and claimed that a bomb had been placed in a sleeper coach of the train, according to officials.
