Ajay Devgn meets CM Revanth Reddy, establishment of a world-class film studio in Telangana

Actor Ajay Devgn recently visited the residence of Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy in New Delhi to discuss a significant investment in the media and entertainment sector of the state. Devgn showed a keen interest in creating a world-class film studio in Telangana, which would be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and built to meet international standards.

As per a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, Devgn shared his vision for a high-tech studio complex that would feature Animation, VFX, and AI-driven smart studio facilities. Additionally, the actor suggested the establishment of a skill development institute aimed at training young professionals in various fields within the film industry.

“Ajay Devgn urged the Chief Minister to provide the necessary support for the studio’s establishment in Telangana,” the CMO statement noted, emphasizing his belief in the state’s potential to become a central hub for cinema infrastructure in India.

During their discussion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted the government’s ongoing initiatives to foster growth in various sectors, including media and entertainment. In turn, Devgn recognized the state’s progressive measures and committed to supporting them, stating he would serve as a brand ambassador to promote the ethos of ‘Rising Telangana’ through cinema.

Also attending the meeting were Ajit Reddy, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Dr. Gaurav Uppal, Secretary for Coordination of Central Schemes.

On the same day, in a different meeting, former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev met with the Chief Minister to explore the possibility of establishing a Sports University in Hyderabad, aimed at developing athletic talent.

In the meantime, the Chief Minister of Telangana engaged in discussions with Union Minister for Labour, Employment, Youth Affairs, and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, requesting that the state be awarded the hosting rights for the Khelo India Games 2026.

Reddy also advocated for central funding amounting to Rs 100 crore for the development of new sports infrastructure, which includes synthetic tracks, indoor stadiums, swimming pools, and hockey fields in districts like Bhuvanagiri, Rayagiri, and Karimnagar.

Additionally, Revanth Reddy made a further appeal for Telangana to host two events if India is chosen to host the 2036 Olympic Games. He also urged the reinstatement of train fare concessions for national-level athletes, a benefit that had previously been eliminated.
