Rahul Gandhi remark the Nitish government over the murder of businessman Gopal Khema

In the wake of businessman Gopal Khemka’s murder in Patna, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a fierce critique of the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar on Sunday, asserting that every “murder is a cry for change”.

In a post on the social media platform X in Hindi, Rahul Gandhi remarked, “The shocking murder of businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna has once again demonstrated that the BJP and Nitish Kumar have collectively transformed Bihar into ‘India’s crime capital.’ Currently, Bihar exists under the looming threat of theft, gunfire, and murder. Crime has become the ‘new normal’ here, and the government is completely ineffective.”

“Brothers and sisters of Bihar, this injustice can no longer be accepted,” he stated.

The former Congress President pointed out that a government that fails to guarantee the safety of your children cannot be trusted with your future. “Every murder, every act of theft, every bullet fired – is a call for change. Now is the moment for a new Bihar – a place devoid of fear, only progress. This time, the vote is not merely to change the government, but to rescue Bihar,” he urged the voters in anticipation of the assembly elections.

The Governor mentioned, “The law and order agencies will be made more proactive. I believe that process has already commenced.” The Bihar Police has established a Special Investigation Team to probe the murder that occurred in Gandhi Maidan in Bihar.
