The ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign for the electoral rolls in Bihar is advancing swiftly. In recognition of the efforts made by the Polling Station officials, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar has declared a special incentive of Rs 6,000 for each official.
This additional honorarium is intended to acknowledge their dedication and hard work throughout the intensive revision process.
“The Rs 6,000 incentive has been sanctioned as a token of appreciation for the relentless service of polling staff during this vital campaign,” stated a release from the CEO’s office. In addition, the SIR in Bihar is progressing vigorously with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs), BLO Supervisors, all election officials, BLAs appointed by political parties, and volunteers working diligently at the grassroots level to ensure that no eligible elector is overlooked, as per a press release from the Election Commission of India (ECI).
According to the release, as of July 5 at 6:00 PM, 1,04,16,545 Enumeration Forms, which is 13.19 percent of the total 7,89,69,844 (approximately 7.90 crore) electors in Bihar enrolled as of June 24, 2025, have been received.
The distribution percentage of forms has also risen to 93.57 percent, with 7,38,89,333 forms already distributed. A total of 77,895 BLOs are visiting homes to assist electors in completing their Enumeration Forms and collecting them. In many instances, the BLOs are capturing live images of the electors and uploading them, thus relieving the electors of the hassle of having their pictures taken.
The partially completed forms are also accessible for download on the ECI portal and on the ECINET App, where electors can upload their completed forms themselves on the ECINET App.
Furthermore, 20,603 BLOs are being designated to ensure the efficient and prompt completion of the process. Almost 400,000 volunteers, which include government officials, etc., are also working facilitate field to assist the elderly, persons with disabilities, the ill, and vulnerable groups in the SIR process.
