On Saturday, officials reported that six devotees were injured when five buses from the Pahalgam-bound convoy for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra collided near the Chanderkote langar site in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district.
The accident occurred as the vehicles, part of the Yatra convoy, lost control and crashed into one another due to brake failure, according to officials.
Rescue teams from both the police and health department quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured pilgrims to the District Hospital Ramban for medical care.
The Amarnath Yatra commenced on July 3 this year and is set to run until August 9, aligning with Shravan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan.
Pilgrims make their way to the sacred cave shrine located 3,888 meters above sea level in the Kashmir Himalayas via two routes: the traditional Pahalgam route or the shorter Baltal route.
