Actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, affectionately referred to as Thalapathy Vijay, has been announced as the chief ministerial candidate for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in the upcoming Tamil Nadu election, according to a statement from his party on Friday.

During the party’s executive committee meeting, the TVK adopted a special resolution designating its founder Vijay as the candidate for chief minister.
