Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 21 In celebration of World Music Day, the Maharashtra government’s Department of Cultural Affairs hosted the Maharashtra Radio Festival 2025 along with the Maharashtra Asha Radio Gaurav Awards 2025.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was present at the event, where he discussed the significant role of radio in providing a platform for expression and in shaping our cultural heritage.

“Expressing through an audio-visual medium is straightforward as it is perceptible. The remarkable aspect of radio is that it conveys everything, even in the absence of visual elements… While new technologies allow us to experience 3D, 4D, and 17D, during the era of 1D, which was solely music, radio was instrumental in giving a voice to our expression and in shaping our cultural heritage,” CM Fadnavis remarked.

Notably, during the event, he also attempted to sing alongside the legendary Asha Bhosle.
